I owe you madness 

As the masses march in lockstep toward the end 

I owe you shouting and chaos 

if I know 

And I know 

this isn't right 

When the children of mothers who could not stop their children from joining ranks with empire gun down the children of mothers born too melanated to qualify for the dream 

I owe you fire to every vehicle, every precinct 

I owe you fury 

I owe you savagery equal to the destruction of life 

If property should come before personhood 

I owe you madness 

I owe you wailing and gnashing of teeth 

I owe you grief 

and streets filled with salt 

to wash away the blood 

I owe you madness 

Because that is the only sane response to this moment 

My ancestors took the land they were given, the land that was taken from those who were kin to it 

And the kin were slain and marched away and worse 

My ancestors took it and bought humans and worked them to death and lived and died for empire and I know it 

And I owe you fury 

I owe you blood 

I owe you the truth 

So I owe you madness 

I owe you unmedicated unmediated attention and connection of brain to breath to truth to body 

This body 

is the technology of liberation and I will keep it 100% fully charged 

With source energy 

With the earth and with the generations of shame and shut mouths and shut hearts 

A renewable resource 

A legion of ancestors who reached the Pearly Gates only to find that in life they had been working for the enemy for free

Parsing the good Earth and its kin 

Serving up morsels of flesh to the gaping maw of racialized capitalist death all the while believing the lies of respectability. Hair set. Sweater set. White gloves. White lies.

They believed so many lies.

They have a debt to pay and that debt is my whole life and mind for madness 

Mad as in queer 

Mad as in landback 

Mad as in reparations 

Mad as in abolition

Mad as in committed to the truth in each wild moment

May I bring the full force of madness to every second of every day.

Are the technology of liberation 

It will never be profit or bigger guns or anything new or special or expensive. It will never require you to sever your humanity. 

That is the lie.

It is breath and authentic love unleashed on soft animal bodies.

It's attention. 

It's co-regulated nervous systems that can pay attention to the moment. Breathe with me with a closed mouth. In and out.
